Before you begin your RMV transaction, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the process. When you are ready to continue, please select a transaction from the list at the top of this page.

Acceptable Forms of Payment

Transactions can only be processed using Discover, MasterCard, or Visa as payment (you do not need a credit card to change your address).

Required Documentation

You will need a valid email address, your driver's license and the appropriate documentation to complete your transaction.

Be Sure to Verify All Entries

Before submitting your transaction, please verify that all data you've entered is correct and complete.

Tracking Your Transaction

At the end of your transaction, you will receive a transaction identification number on-screen. It is important that you note this number for future reference and correspondence with the RMV. The transaction identification number is merely a tracking number. It does not indicate that your transaction was successful.

Confirmation of Your Transaction

Once your transaction has been received and processed, you should receive an email from us within three (3) business days. This email will indicate whether or not your transaction was successful. If you do not receive a confirmation email within three (3) business days, please notify us via our feedback form. Be sure to include your transaction identification number in all correspondence.

Transaction Security

You are about to begin a transaction which will involve sending certain personal or private information (i.e., your credit card number) over the Internet, a public communication network.

To ensure the security of your personal information, we require that your web browser support 128-bit SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) 3.0 encryption.

Voter Registration

Transactions completed online will not affect voter registration. To register to vote or to change your voter registration address, you must submit an application at an RMV Branch Office. Alternatively, you may obtain a voter registration form at any city or town hall. To request a voter registration form by mail, please visit http://www.sec.state.ma.us/ele/elestu/stuidx.htm.
