Overview of Information Sessions on Contraceptive Coverage
The Division of Insurance is holding information sessions to allow interested parties to engage with the Division regarding mandated coverage for certain contraceptive benefits in Massachusetts.
In accordance with state law, licensed health insurance carriers offering fully funded health plans in Massachusetts are required to cover at least one type of federally approved contraceptive drug, device, or other product as listed in the federal Birth Control Guide without any cost sharing. A lesser known benefit under the law also requires health insurance carriers to allow members to obtain up to a 12-month supply of a covered prescription contraceptive at the time that the prescription is dispensed.
Any Massachusetts resident who is interested in participating in an informational session may join via telephone by calling 1-857-327-9245 and use password 354356078# or join via computer or mobile app: Click here to join the meeting
